A top Sri Lankan Trade Chamber has called for political unity in a deeply divided nation which is reeling from a catastrophic tidal wave that has cost tens of thousands of lives and caused billions of rupees of damage to the economy. A top Sri Lankan Trade Chamber has called for political unity in a deeply divided nation which is reeling from a catastrophic tidal wave that has cost tens of thousands of lives and caused billions of rupees of damage to the economy. “The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) calls for national and political unity at Sri Lanka’s worst hour,” a statement from the Chamber said.

“NCCSL appeals to all political parties of the country to set aside their differences and come together in rescuing the island from the national crisis experienced in the country.”

The Chamber has also created a relief fund and is co-coordinating efforts through district chambers in Matara, Kalutara and Hambantota areas.
