Apr 22, 2013 (LBO) - State-run Bank of Ceylon said it had been named the top brand overall and the first banking brand in a survey by Brand Finance, a UK based brand valuation network.



It has 606 branches, 473 teller machines and 860 foreign corresponding agents.

It recently introduced a night banking branch in Wellawatte and a 365 day banking facility at the head office in Colombo. Brand Finance Lanka has named Bank of Ceylon as the top brand for the fifth year in a row.

Bank of Ceylon's brand value has increased 62 percent to 24.15 billion rupees in 2013 from a year earlier.

General manager D M Gunesekera said since 1939 the bank had helped the country, its customers and entrepreneurs reach their goals.

Bank of Ceylon has foreign branches in Chennai, Male and the United Kingdom.
