June 23, 2010 (LBO) – Si lanka’s Central Bank has promoted four officers as assistant governors from June 15 as part of the bank’s succession plan, a statement said. The new assistant governors are Y A de Silva, W M Hemachandra, S Lankathilake, and C J P Siriwardena.

Y A de Silva, a former Director of Premises, was made the Assistant Governor in-charge of Support Services (Security Services and Secretariat). He has served the Central Bank for a period of 33 years.

W M Hemachandra, the former Director of Policy Review and Monitoring, was named Assistant Governor in-charge of Support Services (Finance and Information Technology).

Hemachandra has served the Central Bank for a period of 29 years.

S Lankathilake, former Director of Human Resources, was made Assistant Governor in-charge of Support Services (Human Resources Development and Premises) and has served the Central Bank for 24 years.

C J P Siriwardana, former Superintendent of Public Debt, was appointed Assistant Governor in-charge of Economic Stability and Agency Functions (Statistics, Public Debt and Exchange Control).

Siriwardana has served the Central Bank for a period of 24 year
