May 06, 2013 (LBO) – State-run Sri Lanka Ports Authority has contracted Hyundai Engineering to build a 36 billion rupee berth in an expansion project of the Colombo port, the state information office said. The cabinet of ministers had given the nod to proceed with the project.

The berth will be built on the East Terminal of the Colombo south harbhour expansion project.

The first terminal in the South Harbhour is being built by China Merchant Holdings (International) Ltd.
