The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Rauff Hakeem says his party will back the UNF government only on conditions put forward by his party.
Conditions include Muslims being recognised as a separate and independent participant and that the partys proposals for an interim administration are considered at peace talks with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE). rn
rnHowever, the SLMC Members were among the 124 members of Parliament who on Wednesday endorsed a letter to the Speaker, pledging their confidence in Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and the three Ministers who were removed from office on Tuesday. rn
rnMeanwhile, Cabinet Spokesperson Prof. G L Pieris says meetings with the LTTE to discuss the interim administration is mostly likely to go on as scheduled in late November or early December despite the present setbacks. rn
