The ICT Agency on Friday said it has suspended its regional telecom network licensing process as per Tuesday’s court injunction taken out by the seven network operators. Network operators on Tuesday took the agency to courts questioning the legality in issuing licenses under current telecom sector legislation.

The injunction was issued when the agency was in the process of taking in applications to pre-qualify bidders for two telecom licenses covering the north and east and the deep-south regions.

The Agency has till March 29 to file its objections.

ICT Agency officials hope to resolve the issue amicably and proceed with taking voice and internet facilities to the north and east and the deep-south.
