Growth numbers were not readily available, but Sri Lanka has a student population of over 4 million, with some 30,000 new enrolments annually.
SLT’s “Student Inbox” and “Light Surfer” the telecom operates hopes will be affordable to the students.
A SLT statement Wednesday say the products were designed from feedback from several island wide workshops and seminars aimed at parting IT knowledge among students and teachers.
SLT says the theory knowledge the seminars and workshops provide needed to be put to practice, and the two accounts were developed with that objective in mind.
