China agri firm to buy Pakistan farmland

ISLAMABAD, (AsiaPulse) - China Green, considered that country's biggest private agriculture company, is looking to buy 10,000 acres of farmland in Pakistan on lease to grow fruits and vegetables. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Mir Israrullah Khan Zehri, held a meeting with a trade delegation of China Green.

Zehri said that Pakistan offered an excellent opportunity for investment in the agriculture sector and foreign investors would be welcome to invest in the sector.

"We are ready to facilitate foreign investors and provide them all the required assistance. There is a huge potential and scope to invest and earn profits in the agro-based industry. Pakistan has different climatic regions that suit to grow almost all types of fruits and vegetables. We welcome our Chinese brothers to invest in Pakistan with full confidence and trust," said the minister.

The delegation presented their credentials and claimed to be the largest private company in the agriculture sector of China.
