Dec 09, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Hemas group said it had commissioned an inland container terminal that can store and service 3,000 twenty foot containers. The firm is planning to provide warehousing services in the future.
“With the national intent to make Sri Lanka as a transportation hub, this is a one of many steps which we are focusing on, to be an integrated and integral partner in the logistics industry in the country…,” Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson, managing director of Hemas Transportation said in a statement.
Hemas Integrated Logistics (Pvt) Ltd, is located in Welisara between Colombo port and the main international airport in Katunayake.
Hemas says the company’s parent, Hemas Logistics (Pvt) Ltd has the island’s largest empty container haulage vehicles.
