The first European airline to come into the country since the peace process, started operations this week.
The Czech Republic national carrier, Czech Airlines will use Sri Lanka as the airlines east Asian hub after having pulled out from Thailand recently. The other long haul flights available are to New York and Montreal.rn
rnCzech airline will operate two flights a week from Colombo to Prague on Wednesdays and Saturdays and from Prague on Fridays and Tuesdays.rn
rnIn addition, the airline has a total of 61 destinations in 39 countries worldwide.rn
rnAviation ministry officials say that this will help ease the traffic for seats on flights to Europe at present.rn
