April 26, 2007 (LBO) – A team of French businessmen representing sectors such as textiles, shipping, energy, railways and environment is visiting the island, the French Embassy announced Thursday. The businessmen will be accompanied by French government officials from the Treasury, Finance Ministry and development agencies as well as trade advisors.

The delegation will take part in a two-day investment programme arranged by the French Economic and Trade Mission in Sri Lanka in collaboration with Sri Lanka France Business Council (SLFBC) and the Association of Franco-Ceylonese Technologists (AFCT).

The SLFBC and Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has arranged a round-table discussion with the visiting delegation who will also meet Investment Promotion Minister Sarath Amunugama.

Board of Investment officials will brief the delegation on investment and business prospects in Sri Lanka. The visit coincides with the annual regional meeting of the French Economic Counsellors from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri lanka.
