The Cabinet of Ministers in the President Chandrika Bandaranayake Kumaranatunges new government is due to be finalised by Wednesday, say top JVP sources.
Officials say the new Cabinet, the governments core decision making body could field upto 35 members, with the Marxist JVP taking four seats.rn
rnJVP sources added that they would not push for greater representation in the Cabinet despite their overwhelming success in the April 02 polls where the party secured close to 40 seats out of the 105 won by the coalition Freedom Alliance. rn
rnThe JVP said they will stick to their agreed deal where they negotiated for four cabinet ministries, which include irrigation and water resource management and rural industries. rn
