Feb 26, 2008 (LBO) – Sri Lanka's Triad Advertising says it will seek international recognition after winning the only gold at this year's 'Chillies' ad awards, while a top agency boycotted a post-event media conference. .

Triad topped the tally for the third consecutive year.

The agency won gold under the integrated communications category for a piece named "art against garbage" produced for Environmental Foundation, a charity.

The company says John Merrifield, one of the international judges said the piece had a "very good chance" to win an award at the Adfest, an annual advertising event in the Asia Pacific region set to kick off in March in Pattaya, Thailand.

Encouraged by the comments of this years' judging panel, the ad agency is now hoping to enter some of its creative pieces to the Adfest.

"We have short listed some pieces of work for the Adfest," Triad's joint managing director, Varuni Amunugama said.

"Going by the judges' comments, we are very hopeful of a big win for our award winning work," she said.

Thirty one agencies participated in 'the Chillies 2008' with over 950 pieces of work, its organizers said.
