May 30, 2007 (LBO) – The Securities and Exchange has hired three new specialists to push asset management, debt markets and communications, the regulator said Wednesday. Namal Kamalgoda has been appointed as, Director, Capital Market Development – Asset Management.

He was chief investment officer at Eagle NDB Fund Management Company which had 18 billion rupees under management and has experience in portfolio and mutual fund management, SEC said

Vasula Premawardena who is taking over as Director, Media & Communication has worked as a securities analyst and derivatives specialist dealing in CBOE Index and Equity Options SEC said.

He had managed hedge funds in Chicago, and has worked at CBC Crosby International in Sri Lanka as a senior financial analyst and then as the head of the asset management division and fund manger at Capital Suisse Asia.

Toshihisa Ida has been appointed as Consultant – Debt Market Specialist. He has worked at the Ministry of Finance, Japan and has experience as a regulator in the financial sector, regulating stock broking firms and the corporate bond market, SEC said.
