Sept 22, 2010 (LBO) - India's CRISIL, a unit of the rating agency Standard & Poor's said it is buying Pipal Research Corporation, a knowledge process outsourcing firm for 12.75 million US dollars. The purchase will be done through , Irevna, CRISIL's own KPO division.

"The Irevna-Pipal combination will be uniquely positioned in the high-end analytical offshoring space with the widest range of services, geographic locations, and customer diversity," CRISIL said in a statement.

"Pipal's services, clients and delivery locations are complementary to Irevna's, enabling the combine to strengthen its leadership in the KPO industry."

Irevna has already been rated ast he top financial service and investment research by Datamonitor Black Book of Outsourcing, the firm said.

"The acquisition further cements Irevna's leadership position as a global provider of high-end research and analytical off-shoring services," CRISIL's parent S&P said in a statement.

"S&P has built a strong presence in all key markets in the region and has strengthened coverage and reach through domestic alliances and regional projects.
