Sri Lanka Telecom on Wednesday said that it will seek special leave to appeal Monday’s Court of Appeal ruling against its 2003 tariff hike. The statement said “The Sri Lanka Telecom Limited (SLT) considered the judgment, which was delivered on 25.07.2005 in relation to the case filed by Consumer Association of Lanka in the Court of Appeal quashing the approval granted by the Minister of Telecommunications and the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka for the tariff revision implemented in September 2003.”

“SLT decided to entrust the matter to senior counsel with instructions to seek Special Leave to Appeal to the Supreme Court against the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal,” the statement issued by the Corporate Relations Section of the telecom operator said.
