Oct 31, 2009 (LBO) - A seminar on the implications on Sri Lanka's the new company law featuring senior legal experts targeted at educating director, chief executives, senior managers and corporate lawyers will be held on November 05.

Its organizers Legal & Financial Advisory Services, a legal consultancy, and Marketing Services, a marketing consultancy, say the seminar will give insights to company directors about the liabilities and responsibilities under the new law.

'Business & Law - A Dialogue on the Companies Act in Sri Lanka’, will be held on November 05 at Palm Lounge at Galle Face Hotel.

The seminar will demonstrate how the corporate hierarchy can add value to their firms and avoid falling into the pitfall of financial irregularities, the organizers said.

Senior lawyer K Kanag-Isvaran, President's Counsel, who was involved in drafting the law will speak on An Appreciation and a Modern Thinking of the Companies Act.

Harsha Cabral P.C. will speak on Director’s Duties, Responsibilities and Liabilities under the Companies Act.

Malik Cader, director of Legal Enforcement at the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, will speak on Director Responsibilities of Listed Compani
