Jan 12, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Maxim Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, will build a 700 million rupee warehouse complex with a packing plant for its own use and for lease to other tea exporters, an official said. The firm, connected Sri Lanka's Moslanka Investment (Pvt) Ltd, will build a 70,000 square feet warehouse complex in Mulleriyawa, just outside Colombo.

The factory is expected to begin construction in three months, chairman Saman Weerasinghe said.

The firm signed an agreement with the Sri Lanka's Board of Investment on Thursday.

Weerasinghe said he was already exporting tea to a number of countries including Russia and China.

The firm was also negotiating with third parties to lease out a part of the warehouse to cargo forwarding.
