February 14 (LBO) – Former tourism Anura Bandaranaike may come back to the government with the aviation portfolio, a senior government minister said. vimasuma.com Newsdesk Updated

. Bandaranaike Wednesday met President Rajapakse in the company of Minister Dinesh Gunewardene and Western Province Governor Alavi Moulana a spokesman from the presidential secretariat said.

The meeting was cordial he said, without commenting on what ministry if any Bandaranaike may get.

Bandaranaike was sacked from his National Heritage portfolio last week along with former aviation minister Mangala Samaraweera and minister without portfolio Sripathi Suriarachchi.

Just before the sacking Bandaranaike made a hard hitting speech in parliament after he allegedly received threatening calls.

As the brother of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, and son of party founder S W R D Bandaranaike, the family commands substantial support from the Sri Lanka Freedom grassroots, political analysts say.

Samaraweera and Suriarachchi have called a press conference for Thursday.
