KLM sees passenger traffic rise in March

Apr 10, 2012 (LBO) - KLM group said passenger traffic increased 6.8 percent in March with load factor rising 3.8 percent to 82.5 percent with gains in Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia, though cargo business fell.

The airline said cargo traffic dropped 3.4 percent and load factor fell 2 percent to 69.2 percent.

Traffic on the European network rose 7.2 percent with load a load factor of 71.9 percent, in Americal traffic was up 9.7 percent and the load factor rose 5.8 percent to 88.2 percent.

Load factor in Asia rose 3.4 points to 86.7 percent, measured against weak performance last year with tsunami in Japan.

The Africa and Middle East network saw a 9.3 percent and the load factor gained 4.7 points to 78.9 percent.
