“Apata Galapena Arthika Kramaveda,” a collection of articles on economics in Rohan Samarajiva, expert on infrastructure policies and C J Amaratunga, veteran journalist, will be launched at 4.00 pm on August 6, at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies auditorium, Colombo 8.

The book analyses how theories relevant to infrastructure, such as, roads, highways, irrigation and drinking water, passenger and cargo transport, power and telecommunications, can be accommodated with the political and social realities of Sri Lanka.

Rohan Samarajiva, is the Chair of LIRNEAsia, a Colombo-based regional infrastructure think tank. He writes extensively to newspapers and websites on a variety of subjects including economics. In 2009, he was among the final 3 writers nominated for the 'Bastiat' award presented to the best online journalist.

Samarajiva is also a long-standing columnist for Lanka Business Online. The co-author C J Amaratunga, is an engineering graduate from University of Moratuwa. He currently writes, perhaps the most widely read political column in Sri Lanka, Guruda Vigrahaya for the Sinhalese language Lankadeepa newspaper. Amaratunga edits the regional editions of Irida Lankadeepa.
