10 Nov, 2008 21:08:20
Nov 10, 2008 (LBO) – Sri Lankan business leaders are to be featured on a new website called to be launched by Colombo university business management students.
The website launch will be held at the Fingara Town and Country Club, on November 11 at 7 pm, a university statement said.

It will be under the patronage of S M K Hirimburegama, Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo and P S M Gunaratne, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance.

Ranjit Page, chief executive of Cargills Ceylon, will deliver the key-note address.

MBA students in the 2007-2009 batch of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Management and Finance interviewed nearly 70 business personalities in the country to create content for the website.

The articles will be published as an e-booklet.

The aim of the website is to help development of entrepreneurship in the country and for professional students to get inspiration from current leaders.

This is a great move. Hats off for you "Colombo MBA". This is the true spirit of real future leaders.

The site does include Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara and some leaders who have done public service. Hopefully we will see more profiles added on.

A great move but unfortunately from a narrow perspective. A leader can be from many different sectors. But obviously this is on the corporate side.

Would like to see a wider discussion on leaders and leadership since there is a great lack of leaders in this country for people to look up to especially in the political arena.
