Sri Lanka entertainment resort by Indian gaming firm
12 Jun, 2012 12:10:55
June 12, 2012 (LBO) - India's Delta Corp, a Bombay listed gaming firm said it had acquired 11 acres of land in Sri Lanka to build an entertainment resort complex near the island's main international airport.
Delta Corp said in a stock exchange filing that it had acquired 11 acres of land to build a 4 or 5 star entertainment hotel resort complex, near Sri Lanka's main airport in Katunayake, north of the capital Colombo.

The company said Sri Lanka is in the midst of a tourism boom after the end of a three decade war.

"Delta Corp hopes to have an early mover advantage and be part of this growth," the firm said.

The firm said it was the largest gaming company in India and the only listed one. It operated two offshore casinos in vessels off Goa and was in the process of setting up a new one.

Earlier Sri Lankan officials said that Delta Corp was also looking to lease an island in Kalpitiya.

Well Dhammika is a small player and his Summer Resort is rather silent pipeline. I am sure if he gambles right, he can become a major player. More players will emerge and wipeout. Keep the gaming action within a contained environment and not spread out. This will bring about control and monitor.
