The 800,000th tourist arrived from flight from UK, and was welcomed by top tourism officials, a statement said.

In November Sri Lanka topped the year-end target of 750,000 tourists, with a record 90,889 visitor coming during the month.

Officials say December arrivals may be about 100,000 visitors.
