Sri Lanka's Bank of Ceylon ranked among top 1,000

Dec 04, 2012 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's state-run Bank of Ceylon has been ranked among top 1,000 global banks by UK-based Banker magazine, the island's largest lender said.
Bank of Ceylon serves over ten million customers island wide and has a rating of 'AA+(lka)' from Fitch with a stable outlook.

Chairman Gamini Wickramasinghe said in a statement that the bank achieved its 'One Ten Twelve' target of reaching a trillion rupees in assets and ten billion rupees in profits in 2012 by mid-year.

Bank of Ceylon has more than 600 branches and 1,000 points where customers can reach it with extension offices and teller machines. It also has over 800 foreign corresponding agents.

Oh, the global banking system has gone down so much, BOC got a place in top 1000. :D
