Manjula de Silva, who is the managing director of HNB Assurance, takes over as president from Jagath Alwis, director-technical at Ceylinco Insurance Company.

Prakash Schaffter, managing director of Janashakthi Insurance, who held the position of treasurer on the previous committee, was voted in as the new secretary.

Ramal Jasinghe, the chief executive at Asian Alliance Insurance, the previous committee's secretary, was elected to the post of vice-president.

Deepthi Lokuarchchi, assistant managing-director at Hayleys-AIG Insurance, was elected as the treasurer of the insurance association.

The committee membership consists of the remaining 11 insurance companies, an official at the Insurance Association said.
