So I requested a report,” Wickremesinghe said. “Most of them get transferred because they were there for over 5 years.

Some people were transferred because their efficiency is low,” he said.

“The issue here is how they worked there for over 5 years, who has given that opportunity to them, that is the question,” he stressed.

The CB should perform totally independently without any interference from any politicians. It has to be run by trained professionals. RW has no right to play politics and criticize the CB.

RW is proving himself to be no different sadly at the expense of our votes. Coming from the one man who went to extreme lengths to safeguard his friend turned governor from his mega scandal no wonder now they have to attack CB officials in a dictatorship led management. At down after election victory both UNP and UPFA withdrew their court cases against each other including those against Cabral and now he’s playing the same card when he’s threatened? Why did they abandon the probes in the first place. The whole national government move was engineered by RW to get the culprits on board so that little would be heard of his own (bond saga) and waited until the dust settled to resume their agenda though it seems to have been backfired. CB has enough and more professionals capable of running itself wihout imported businessman whose knowledge of domestic markets was amply on display at his interviews. Politicians are a menace who irrespective of party and colour would never develop this country never allow officials to function independent and with integrity. These parachutors will carry out the political mandates of their appointors (which is only natural) while in power and will have fled so unceremoniously upon defeat like Cabral did. what a joke has this country become? At leat leave the country’s economy and financial system at bay.
