Aug 17, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s election watchdog PAFFREL says the organization has received 123 complaints in relation to 129 electoral and general law violations during the past three days.
Among them, 07 are related to acts of violence and 10 incidents of electoral or general law violations.
As per PAFFREL statistical report of election law violations, a total of 02 hospitalizations have been reported during the last three days.
One killing and one grievous assault were among 10 acts of violence related incidents.
There were 119 other violations including 77 incidents of carrying out illegal election propaganda, the organization said.
Most number of complaints has been received from Western Province (20) and Southern Province (20).
17 complaints from Uva Province and 17 complaints from Eastern Province have also been reported.
Out of the total 129 reported incidents, 113 incidents were confirmed incidents, the election watchdog said.
PAFFREL is to deploy over 14,000 officials including the international observers to observe the general election which is to be held today.
