Jan 09, 2017 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena inaugurated the Mövenpick Hotel in Colombo, Saturday.
“With open spaces, modern designs and cool features, Mövenpick Hotel Colombo is the first new five-star hotel to open in Colombo in 25 years, making it the perfect base from which to explore this capital city,” the hotel said in a statement.
The Swiss hotel partnered with local company Softlogic Holdings Plc and will officially open on 16th January.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts President and CEO Olivier Chavy said he qualified the Colombo property as a vertical and urban resort.
Contemporary design, panoramic views and an uplifting atmosphere are just some of the highlights of the 24-storey hotel will have themed restaurants, a rooftop bar to complement a spa, fitness centre, jacuzzi and infinity pool, the statement said.
The 5-star Mövenpick Hotel Colombo is located close to the Liberty Arcade, Colpetty market and National Museum.
