July 15, 2011 (LBO) – Lanka Market Research Bureau (Pvt) Ltd (LMRB) said it has appointed Himalee Madurasinghe, former second-in-command and a 14-year veteran at the firm as its chief executive. LMRB started 1981 as the first independent market research consultancy in Sri Lanka. It is affiliated to market research firms, IMRB International and Kantar group.
The firm said she had been head of quantitative research from 2006 and had led a team that tripled business before taking over as deputy CEO in 2010.
“LMRB is planning a range of new services and technological innovations,” Madurasinghe said in a statement.
“We plan to set up a specialized unit for Social Research and Shopper Research, use electronic devices to enhance data collection and launch the Target Group Index (TGI – a single source marketing and media survey).
“This should be available to clients early next year.”
