Sri Lanka Central Bank releases latest economic, social statistics

June 04, 2010 (LBO) - The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said it has just released its annual publication 'Economic and Social Statistics of Sri Lanka 2010' with data on a wide range of economic and social developments.

"The vast amount of data included in this publication will be of use for analysing trends in the economy, and will be of use for entrepreneurs, policy makers, researchers, teachers, students and the general public," a statement said.

The publication has around 200 data tables with information on climate, population and labour force, national accounts, agriculture, industry, prices and wages, trade and finance, capital markets, government finance, banking and financial institutions, and transportation.

It also includes information on living conditions in Sri Lanka from the Consumer Finances and Socio-Economic Survey 2003/04 conducted by the Central Bank.


Information at the provincial level on key economic variables, including socio economic conditions, GDP in current terms, agriculture and livestock statistics, water consumption, foreign employment and plantation sector manpower and production are also included.
