Sri Lanka Crown casino resort fields cricket ambassadors

Oct 21, 2013 (LBO) - A proposed casino resort in Sri Lanka by James Packer's Crown group has appointed as its ambassadors, Australian cricket captain Micheal Clarke and Vivien Greig, whose husband Tony is a household name in the island. Crown group is building what it calls a landmark iconic resort by the side of Colombo's Beira Lake. The 400 million US dollar resort will have a luxury hotel, dining, entertainment and gaming facilities.

It promises a water feature by California-based WET Design, the same firm that built the The Dubai Fountain.

Packer's family business group has a long association with cricket.

His father Kerry along with South African-born Tony Greig is credited with changing the face of cricket by starting a World Series in 1977 defying the cricketing establishment and signing up players in secret.
