Sri Lanka debut of Thailand’s Centara with two hotels

June 17, 2012 (LBO) - Thailand's Centara Hotels and Resorts will open two 4-star hotels in Sri Lanka in the last quarter of 2012 which will be under their management in the island's South West and East coasts. "These two superb hotels mark our debut in Sri Lanka, a market that we feel holds great promise for us," Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive of Centara Hotels & Resorts said in a statement.

"They are an important stage in our development strategy for the Indian Ocean."

Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa with 166 units is in Sri Lanka's South Western coast flanked by a river on one side a beach on the other. The hotel is owned by Sri Lanka's Softlogic group.

It will have a dinner cruise and all day dining outlets serving Sri Lankan, Asian with live cooking stations.

Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa Sri Lanka is a 126-room property in Sri Lanka's Eastern coast.

Sri Lanka's Eastern coast is a popular destination in the middle of the year during the rainy season in the South Western coast.
