Mar 13, 2019 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's Finance Minister said estate workers will receive a 800 rupees daily wage from the present 700 rupees from April 01st 2019.
'They will receive Rs. 50 daily allowance form April 01st for the next 12 months,' he told reporters in Colombo a short while ago.
'The wage which stood at 700 rupees was earlier was raised by 20 rupees following the signing of a collective agreement and now with all other additions will be 800 rupees inclusive of EPF and ETF deductions.

The decision was made following talks with the Tamil Progressive Alliance parliamentarians Mano Ganeshan, V. Radhakrishan and Digambaram.
