Nov 21, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka has become one of the top 10 most popular destinations in after being included in Emirates group’s travel arm, officials said as outbound packages were also launched to customers in the island. The firm was developing more Sri Lanka tours targeted at specific markets.
Emirates Holidays set up an office in Colombo and was now selling packages to Sri Lankan customers.
Though 136 destinations are available to Sri Lankan customers, three destinations designed for the market has been launched.
A 4 Days/3 Nights package to Maldives starting at 734 US dollars, to Dubai at 740 dollars and Singapore at 633 dollars have been launched. The packages include economy class return tickets and breakfast, except in Maldives where it is full board.
“One of the fastest growing if not the fastest growing destination in our portfolio is Sri Lanka,” Marc Bennet, senior vice president of destinations and leisure management said in Colombo.
“As we roll out our technical abilities to sell holidays on Emirates.com and beyond we will become a serious contributor to growth as an inbound destination.”
