Sri Lanka investments eyed by Polish businesses

Feb 14, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s state investment promotion agency said Polish investors met the agency to assess possible investments in power generation and pharmaceuticals manufacture. A delegation from Polska Izba Gospodarcze, the Polish Chamber of Commerce headed by Leszek Lazarczyk of Linter group in Poland had visited Sri Lanka’ the Board of Investment said.

“The delegation’s visit to the island was to evaluate the potential for investment in Sri Lanka in key areas where Polish enterprises have comparative advantages, notably in power generation and pharmaceuticals manufacture,” the BOI said in a statement.

“The delegation also expressed interest in alternative medicine, spas and related products including Ayurveda based products and services.”

The mission was organized by D S de Silva, deputy chief of mission at Sri Lanka’s embassy in Poland, the BOI said.
