June 28, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stock market trading is halted until a problem with client accounts in its automated trading system is resolved, the Colombo Stock Exchange said Friday. “We have found that a mismatch has arisen in certain client balances displayed on the Automated Trading System (ATS) during the pre-open session (9.00 am – 9.30 am) on 28th June 2013,” CSE said in a statement.
“Trading has been temporarily halted. The CSE is in the process of rectifying the problem.”
Brokers have been told that the trading system will be re-booted and orders already entered into the system will be purged.
The exchange which usually starts at 9.30 am, initially said trading will commence at 10.00 am but then said it will be delayed until further notice. Update II
