Sri Lanka stocks close lower at 0.04-pct

Apr 23, 2015 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's stocks closed lower, 0.04 per cent with the telecommunication stocks making losses, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 2.74 points lower at 7,114.39, down 0.04 per cent. The S&P SL20 closed 03.29 points lower at 4,026.32, down 0.08 per cent. “The political uncertainty in the country is keeping investors away."Lanka Securities said. Turnover was 593 million rupees down from 1.04 billion rupees, Wednesday with 75 stocks closing positive against 86 negative. Dialog Axiata closed at 11.30 rupees, down 0.30 rupees while Sri Lanka Telecom closed at 46.80 rupees, down 0.70 rupees. In banking stocks, DFCC closed at 218.10 rupees, up 1.20 rupees and Hatton National Bank closing at 228.20 rupees, up 0.20 rupees. Commercial Bank closed at 171.50 rupees, down 0.50 rupees.
 Distilleries closed at 240.50 rupees, up 0.30 rupees and John Keells Holdings closed up at 206.60 rupees, down 0.30 rupees.
