Sri Lanka stocks closed down 0.39 pct

October 17, 2012 (LBO) - Sri Lanka stocks closed down 0.39 percent Wednesday recording the lowest turnover in two months. The Colombo All Share Index closed at 5,586.40 down 21.73 points and the S & P SL 20 Index closed 19.61 points lower at 3,017.33 down 0.65 percent.

Turnover was 372 million rupees, the lowest in two months. Colombo Dockyard led the day's turnover with 30 million rupees, Lanka IOC with 27 million rupees and Commercial Bank with 21 million rupees.

Colombo Dockyard recorded 137,000 shares in volume and closed flat for the day at 220.00 rupees, brokers said.

Aitken Spence slipped 3.20 rupees to close at 125.80 rupees down 2.48 percent.

Commercial Bank slipped 1.20 rupees to close at 104.80 rupees down 1.13 percent. DFCC Bank closed flat at 110.00 rupees. Hatton National Bank PLC lost 1.50 rupees to close at 153.90 rupees down 0.97 percent.

Dialog Axiata PLC gained 0.10 cents to close at 8.50 rupees.

Index heavy John Keells Holdings PLC slipped 1.50 rupees to close at 202.90 rupees down 0.73 percent.
