Dissanayake was speaking at an event held at temple trees on Friday to handover the investigation report on Tourism and Sports ministries to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. It has been revealed that the then ruling United People's Freedom Party had used funds of this bureau for the 2014 Uva Provincial Council election. “We’ll hand over this report to the CID for further investigations.” Dissanayake told reporters. The inquiry was conducted by a three member committee headed by retired senior public servant Dharmasena Dissanayake. The report has also raveled information about the international broadcasting rights transfer to Carlton Sports Network (CSN).

“Sri Lanka Cricket has not followed cabinet decisions and tender procedures when transferring rights to CSN...” the report revealed. The report has also uncovered the concealed details of the Sugathadasa stadium’s 400 meters synthetic track renovation.
