Sri Lanka’s former president Rajapakse goes to jail: Report

Feb 09, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s former President Mahinda Rajapakse visited his recently acquired ally Tissa Attanayake today. He is accused of fabricating a document to discredit President Sirisena and Prime Minister Wickremesinghe. Rajapakse spent a few minutes at the Welikada Prison Hospital where Attanayake has been warded since he was remanded a week ago on criminal charges of falsifying documents, a media report said.

Attanayake was the general secretary at United National Party (UNP) before he crossed over to Rajapakse Regime and was made health minister for a short period of time.
