Sri Lanka’s Hemas Holdings in hotel with Thailand’s Minor

Sept 04, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Hemans Holding said it is building a 40 million US dollar luxury hotel with Thailand’s minor group. The group through its Serendib Leisure Management Ltd has manages AVANI Bentota Resort and Spa, AVANI Kalutara Resort, Club Hotel Dolphin and Hotel Sigiriya.

The 154 room 5-star rated hotel will be in Tangalle, on the South Coast.

The hotel will also boast of 3 restaurants and a purpose-built spa.

“The property will be operated under the Anantara brand, and will epitomise the very best in indigenous Sri Lankan design, and will be complemented with all the luxuries sought-after by the modern-day traveller,” Hemas said in a statement.

The firm said it had acquired the property over 20 years ago.
