Sri Lanka’s JVP threatens to quit National Executive Council

Mar 24, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Marxist Janathā Vimukthi Peramuṇa on Tuesday demanded the government to call a National Executive Council meeting immediately to solve urgent issues.

Releasing a statement the JVP said that they will decide whether to quit the council or not after discussing the matter with civil society organizations who contributed to defeat the ‘Rajapaksa regime’.

“We wanted to question the new political developments; even though an Executive Council meeting was scheduled for this(Tuesday) morning; the meeting has been cancelled suddenly.” the statement said.
