Sri Lanka’s new administration ordered to release ‘Frontline’ magazine issue

Feb 18, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s new administration had ordered to release an issue of India’s Frontline magazine, which was held at the border, Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.

Customs authorities had held up the magazine due to an article which contained a reprint of an interview with the leader of LTTE, originally conducted in September 1987.
The magazine was decided to be released as there was no threat to national security, a statement from his office said.

Prime Minister Wickramasinghe had said the customs to ask the Media Ministry if issues like this occurred in the future.
