Sri Lanka’s new government reduces fuel prices

Jan 22, 2014 (LBO)-The new Government of Sri Lanka reduced the prices of fuel by removing tariff with effect from midnight yesterday. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held yesterday, the ministry of energy said in a media release.

Price of a liter of petrol will be reduced by 33 rupees to 117 rupees while the price of a diesel liter is reduced by 16 rupees to 95 rupees.

Petrol with 95-Octane cont was reduced by 30 rupees to 128 rupees and super diesel cut by 23 rupees to 110 rupees.

The price of kerosene was reduced by 16 rupees per liter to 65 rupees.
