Sri Lanka’s northern agri-biz fair set to go

July 18, 2013 (LBO) – An agri business fair in Killinochchi, a former war zone in the northern Sri Lanka is ready to open on July 26 with all stalls filled, its organizers said. The event has been supported backed by the Governor of the Northern Province, the military and state officials, the organizers said. The first ever agricultural exhibition in the Northern Province with all stake holders of the Agri-business chain will be held from 26th to 28th of July at Central college grounds Killinochchi.

The Agbiz North exhibition organized by the National Agri Business Council, an industry body, Practical Action, a technology charity is coupled with another event, the Killinochchi International Trade Fair 2013.

All the offered stalls were fully booked and more stalls had be created to meet the demand, Rohith Nanayakkara, secretary of the Agri Biz Council said in a statement.

Exhibitors include input suppliers, financial institutions, agriculture department, animal production and health department, coconut cultivation board, state dairy firms Milco and NLDB.
