Sri Lanka’s security council to formulate new national security plan: President

May 25, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the security council to formulate a new national security plan considering national and regional situation.

“It will be prepared with a scientific background and will be based on a technological mechanism and no room will be left for the revival of terrorism in the country,” the President said.

“The new Government places the highest concern on the country’s national security. Terrorism was eradicated mainly because of the discipline of the Security Forces personnel.”

The President was addressing security forces personnel after participating in an inspection tour at the security forces headquarters in Welikanda on Monday.
