Sri Lanka’s top apparel exporter slot filled by Brandix

March 28, 2007 (LBO) – The Brandix group has been named the top apparel exporter by Sri Lanka's export promotion agency, the company said Wednesday. It makes casual bottoms, intimate and active wear, textiles, knitted fabrics, sewing and embroidery thread, accessories and hangers, and offers wet processing and finishing and fabric printing.

Brandix said it expected a group turnover of 320 million us dollars for the year ending March 2007.

The Export Development Board had released the rankings based on export turnover at meeting convened by Export Development Minister G L Pieris at a meeting with the six largest exporters, Brandix said.

Brandix has been making substantial investments in Sri Lanka and it is encouraging to see that our efforts have contributed very tangibly to the export economy of the country, Brandix CEO Ashroff Omar said in a statement.
