Oct 29, 2013 (LBO) – Water’s Edge, a hospitality facility coming under Sri Lanka’s Urban Development Authority is seeking investors to build a 200 room hotel, an official said. He said there was already interest from several investors and one will be chosen to build the hotel.
Water’s Edge, which was built as a golf club on state land, but was re-vested in the state by a court order over irregularities in now being run by the UDA. It has a clubhouse with banquet hall and facilities for meetings but no rooms.
It is located in Sri Lanka’s administrative capital of Kotte bordering a wetland sanctuary.
UDA chairman Nimal Perera said a 200-room hotel was being planned.
