Ruwan Wijewardene explores Thai military’s shipbuilding operations, meets with Deputy PM
State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene with Thai Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan
October 10, 2018 (LBO) - State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene is visiting Thailand on a high level defence visit. During the visit he called on Thai Defence Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
During the visit to strengthen defence ties, Wijewardene also explored the Thai military's ship building operations.
Wijewardene was appointed State Minister of Defence after the Presidential elections in 2015. He serves under President Maithripala Sirisena who also holds the Defence portfolio.
